Relate works extensively in schools training students as peer listeners and also offers training for staff in listening skills, conflict resolution and mediation.
Peer Listener/Peer Mediator Training for Students
A three-day training programme which helps students learn the skills they will need to be listeners or mediators for their own school community. Often used as part of the schools’ anti-bullying programme, peer support schemes are very successful in increasing student participation.
Once trained, peer listeners are often employed as buddys or mentors and act as role models within the school.
In addition, Relate offers relationship education training for KS3 and KS4 PSHE groups in school.

Training for School Staff
Courses in school, for staff are generally short workshops and include topics such as, basic counselling skills, dealing with stress, mediation skills and managing conflict. Relate also offers training in mediation and managing emotional client situations for staff.
