Sex Therapy

If your relationship is affected by sexual difficulties, sex therapy will help you learn more satisfying sexual behaviour and help you develop a sense of confidence and enjoyment in making love.

Amongst our women clients the most commonly encountered problems are vaginisimus, difficulty with orgasm, lack of enjoyment or interest. In men, the most common difficulties are premature ejaculation, problems with erection, delayed ejaculation and also lack of enjoyment.

Sex therapy at Relate involves meeting with a therapist regularly. You will be given exercises to do at home designed to slowly build confidence and enjoyment and your therapist will monitor their effect and help tailor the programme with you.
If you are in a relationship it is usually helpful to attend together.

If you are unsure whether you may benefit from sex therapy please make an appointment to discuss your situation with a therapist who can advise you about the best course of action. We would also recommend that everyone with a sexual difficulty also has a check up with their doctor.
