Relationship Counselling

Are you having difficulties in your relationship? Do you find your relationships going wrong? Do you want to understand your partner better? Relationship counselling can help you  to work it out.

Counselling offers an opportunity to think and talk about your concerns with a trained counsellor. Relate counsellors provide a caring, confidential and supportive environment in which you can examine problems and how you address them.

For some people we transform their relationships and their lives; for others we help them solve a specific problem and move forward with more confidence and less anxiety.

Many people come to see Relate because of a communication breakdown. Here are just a few of the concerns which people bring to Relate:

How can I forgive my husband for having an affair? – “my partner cheated on me. Since I found out I can’t bear to be with him. How can I ever trust him again?”

We can’t stop arguing – “we can’t agree about anything any more and we simply argue non stop”

My partner and I simply don’t talk any more – “It seems that my partner and I just don’t have anything in common any more. We never talk any more. We planned to marry but now I think maybe I should leave her”

Relationship counselling is helpful for both individuals and couples and Relate sees heterosexual, gay and lesbian couples.
