Sex Therapy
If your relationship is affected by sexual difficulties, sex therapy will help you learn more satisfying sexual behaviour and to develop a sense of confidence and enjoyment in making love. Call us for an initial assessment and, if you are not sure whether it is sex therapy or relationship counselling that is best for you, we will offer you a consultation with a counsellor to help you decide. Either way, you will be offered an initial appointment within 2 weeks of contacting us and, if appropriate, carry on into sex therapy after this. Otherwise, the counsellor will help you to decide what else you might do next.
Relate Sex Therapists are fully trained and experienced counsellors who have undergone further professional training in sex therapy. They are in professional supervision and undergo continuous professional development. They work with couples and individuals to address their psychology, behaviour and attitudes to sex and design treatment specific to the clients’ unique sexual difficulties.

Amongst our women clients the most commonly encountered problems are vaginisimus, difficulty with orgasm, lack of enjoyment and lack of interest. In men, the most common difficulties are premature ejaculation, problems with erection, retarded ejaculation and lack of enjoyment. The initial assessment costs £45. Ongoing sex therapy starts at £40 per session and we ask for higher contributions from those who can afford it. Subsidies are available for those who cannot afford the fees quoted here.
