Services of Relate North London return to normal

Services covered by Relate North London, which closed last week, are returning to normal as neighbouring Relate Centres have taken over all the services of the former centre.

Relate London North West and Relate North East London have divided the services between them and will offer relationship services to people in Golders Green, Finchley, Mill Hill, Enfield and Wood Green, following Relate North London’s closure of only one week.

Managers of the rescuing centres, Hazel Hewett of Relate London North West and Pam Forsyth of Relate North East London, issued a joint statement saying:

“We are delighted that Relate will be able to resume services to clients and most will be offered counselling with the same counsellor, even at their old time slot.” 

“We have taken on 32 counsellors out of 36 and will offer services in most of the same venues, so people will not have to travel far to get the services they need.” 

“We have done everything we can to minimise disruption and are sorry for any distress experienced by clients of the former Relate North London during this period of uncertainty. Fortunately for most clients service will continue as usual.”

Out of the six locations Relate North London used to practice in, five locations have been taken on by the neighbours with only the former head office at Palmers Green being closed completely (Relate clients will be transferred to Wood Green or Enfield). 

Both Relate centres offer relationship counselling, young people’s counselling, family counselling, sex therapy, family mediation, therapeutic mediation and education and training.
